I Have 273,594 Followers. I’ve Never Run Out of Content Ideas.

The Posting Formats That Took Me from Zero to Six Figures of Audience in Three Years

Three years ago, I had virtually zero followers.

Today I have over 273,594. I have posted consistently that entire time. And I have never once stared at a blank screen wondering what to write.

Not because I am more creative than other creators. Because I stopped thinking about content as ideas and started thinking about it as formats.

Here is what I mean. Most creators sit down to write and ask: “What should I post about today?” That is the wrong question. It is too open. Too vague. It leads to paralysis or to random content that does not connect to anything.

The better question is: “What format should I use, and what stage of the funnel does it serve?”

Once you think in formats, ideas become infinite. Because you are not inventing from scratch every day. You are plugging your expertise into proven structures that do specific jobs. And when those formats are mapped to a funnel, every post has a purpose. Not just engagement. Business purpose.

Josh Sanders put together a framework of posting formats across the funnel that lines up perfectly with how I think about this. Let me walk you through it and show you how it connects to the system I teach in Synergy.

The Algorithm Changed. Your Content Mix Needs to Change With It.

The LinkedIn algorithm in 2026 has made something very clear: 1,000 buyers will always beat 1,000,000 passive followers.

That is not a motivational statement, but rather a distribution reality. LinkedIn is weighting deeper engagement signals over surface reactions. Saves, comments, shares, and reply chains matter more than likes. The algorithm is matching content to interested audiences, not just connected audiences. And it is getting better at identifying content that drives real engagement versus content that generates empty impressions.

What this means practically is that every post should drive toward one end outcome. Not just reach. Not just awareness. A specific outcome that moves someone closer to knowing you, trusting you, or buying from you.

That is the Creator’s Funnel from Synergy. Top of funnel gets you discovered. Middle of funnel builds trust. Bottom of funnel converts. Most creators live exclusively at the top and wonder why they have followers but no clients.

The posting formats I am about to walk you through are organized by funnel stage. Not by content type. Not by trend. By business function.

Top of Funnel: Getting in Front of People Who Do Not Know You Yet

These formats exist to create discovery. They are designed to reach beyond your current audience, earn saves and reposts, and bring new people into your world. This is where most of your content lives when you are still building. 70 to 80% of your output should be here if you are in growth mode.

Niche cheat sheet. One graphic. One topic. Built specifically for your ideal audience. This is the single most reliable format for saves and reposts on LinkedIn right now. The key is specificity. A cheat sheet about “social media tips” is forgettable. A cheat sheet about “10 LinkedIn headline formulas for B2B consultants” gets saved because it speaks to a specific person with a specific need. This format feeds the Semantic Authority Flywheel directly. Every niche cheat sheet you publish reinforces your topic classification with the algorithm.

Broad topic cheat sheet. Same visual format, wider angle. These are framework led and designed for reach. Think “The anatomy of a perfect LinkedIn post” or “7 content frameworks every creator should know.” They sacrifice some audience specificity for broader appeal. Use them strategically. They bring in volume. Your niche cheat sheets convert that volume into followers who actually care about your topic.

Resources or tools post. A curated list your ideal audience can actually use. “5 free tools I use to create LinkedIn carousels in under 10 minutes.” These posts work because they deliver immediate, practical value. People save them because they want to come back. Saves are one of the strongest signals the algorithm tracks right now, and resource posts generate them reliably.

These three formats are your discovery engine. They bring new people to your profile. But they are not where the money is made. They are where the relationship starts.

Middle of Funnel: Turning Followers Into Warm Leads

This is the stage most creators skip. They go from discovery content straight to a pitch. Free to premium with nothing in between. And they wonder why nobody buys.

Middle of funnel content exists to build trust. To move someone from “I follow this person” to “I trust this person” to “I want to learn from this person.” That progression does not happen by accident. It happens through specific content formats.

Lead magnet post. A free resource with a comment trigger. “Comment ‘playbook’ and I’ll send you my LinkedIn content calendar template.” This format does two things simultaneously. It delivers value and it captures contact information. Every person who comments is raising their hand and saying “I want more from you.” Those are the people you follow up with. Those are the people who eventually become clients. In Synergy, this is the first rung of the Offer Ladder. You are giving someone a low risk reason to engage with your expertise beyond a post.

Personal story post. An experience or lesson from your journey. Not motivational fluff. A real story with a real lesson that connects to a real problem your audience faces. This is pillar two of the four pillar content system from Synergy: Story. People remember narratives long after they forget frameworks. A good personal story makes someone feel like they know you. That emotional connection is what separates a creator they follow from a creator they trust.

Personal tools and systems post. Show what is in your stack and how you use it. “Here is my exact workflow for producing three LinkedIn posts per week in under two hours.” This format builds authority by being specific. You are not speaking in theory. You are showing your actual process. That level of transparency builds trust faster than any number of motivational posts because it demonstrates that you actually do the work, not just talk about it.

These three formats warm your audience up. They take someone from casual follower to engaged reader to someone who is actively thinking about working with you. Without them, your top of funnel content generates followers who never convert.

Bottom of Funnel: Converting Followers Into Buyers

This is the conversion pillar from Synergy. The one most creators are afraid of. The one that actually pays the bills.

Bottom of funnel content exists to turn trust into action. To give someone who has been following you, reading your posts, engaging with your ideas, and warming up over weeks or months a clear, confident reason to buy.

Case study post. Show your audience that your work creates results. Walk them through a client’s situation. What was the problem? What did you do? What changed? This format proves your offer before anyone has to ask. It is the most powerful conversion format on LinkedIn because it combines proof, teaching, and a natural bridge to your offer in a single post. End with something like: “This is the exact process I walk clients through. DM me ‘results’ if you want to see how it applies to your situation.”

Milestone celebration. A result with a lesson attached. “I just crossed 273,594 followers after three years of consistent posting. Here are the five things that actually moved the needle.” The milestone earns you the right to teach. It is not bragging if you attach genuine value to it. And it functions as social proof. The reader thinks: “If this person achieved that, maybe their methods work.” That is conversion content disguised as a story.

Niche how to video. Show the exact outcomes your ideal audience wants, on video. Walk them through a process. Show your screen. Demonstrate a framework. Video builds trust faster than text because people can see your face, hear your voice, and evaluate your competence in real time. The hook has to land fast and the topic needs to be clear, but when a how to video is done well, it converts warm leads into buyers better than almost any other format.

These three formats should be roughly 15% of your content output. Not more. The other 85% is building the trust that makes these posts land. But without them, you are training your audience to consume for free forever.

Your Content Mix Should Match Your Current Goal

This is the part that changes everything once you understand it.

If you need leads now, load up on middle and bottom of funnel content. More lead magnets. More case studies. More personal stories that build trust fast. You already have an audience. Start converting it.

If you are still building, 70 to 80% of your content should be top of funnel. Cheat sheets. Resource posts. Framework content. You need volume first. You need people discovering you and following you. Conversion comes later.

If you are established with a large audience and consistent engagement, your mix should be balanced. Roughly 40% top of funnel for continued growth, 30% middle for trust building, 15% bottom for conversion, and 15% story and opinion for connection and alignment. That maps directly to the four pillar system from Synergy: 40% education, 25% story, 20% opinion, 15% conversion.

The key is that your mix is intentional. Not random. Not “whatever feels right today.” A deliberate ratio that matches where your business is right now.

Why I Never Run Out of Ideas

Let me bring this back to where we started.

I have nine formats mapped across three funnel stages. I have three to five Content Pillars that define what I talk about. That gives me somewhere between 27 and 45 unique content combinations before I even start thinking about specific topics.

When I sit down to write, I do not ask “what should I post.” I ask: “What funnel stage am I serving this week? What format fits? What pillar am I reinforcing?”

That narrows a blank page to a clear brief in about thirty seconds.

Then the ideas flow. Because I am not inventing from scratch. I am plugging my expertise into a structure that has a job to do. The format handles the packaging. The pillar handles the topic. The funnel stage handles the purpose. My only job is to bring the substance.

That is a system. And systems do not run out of ideas. They generate them.

Build the system first. Then let the content do its job.

The Real Shift

273,594 followers in three years did not come from better hooks or more viral posts. It came from understanding that every post has a job. Discovery, trust, or conversion. When you know the job, the format becomes obvious. When the format is obvious, the idea writes itself.

Stop thinking about content as individual posts. Start thinking about it as a system with formats mapped to outcomes. That is how creators stop struggling for ideas and start building businesses.

Your content is not just content. It is infrastructure.
