Challenge Your Limits!

9 Life Maxims I know at 50 that I wished I knew at 20. No. 4 is Kick Ass!

Tired of routines, conventional norms, or boring outcomes? Embrace instead the unconventional and break free from the ordinary. Use these 9 life maxims to transform your life and challenge your limits.

1. The Best Caffeine in the Morning is a 30-Minute Workout.

The most invigorating start to the day doesn't come from a coffee mug but from breaking a sweat. Prioritize your morning with an intense workout, and you will have an abundance of energy throughout your day.

2. Make Connections with True Friends.

A true friend is someone who would bail you out of jail on a Thursday at 3:00 AM. Know the difference.

3. Invest in Memories, Not Objects.

Go see the Yankees play the Astros. Go visit Machu Picchu with your spouse. Take a road trip down the entire length of Route 66. Adding to your memory bank happens just outside of the four walls of your living room.

4. Be Brave Enough to Suck at Something New.

Take guitar lessons. Learn a new language. I started learning Spanish on Duolingo back in March. I speak very little Spanish, but I can feel the growth.

5. Dogs Are the Best People.

Be kind to dogs always and treat them as the beautiful creators they are. By the way, this extends to all pets, kids, and grandparents.

6. Invest in Memories, Not Objects.

Challenge the consumer-driven narrative that often overshadows the significance of experiences. Collect moments, not things, and your life will become richer than you ever imagined.

7. Embrace Your Inner Weirdness.

Normalcy can be limiting. Challenge the notion that you must conform to fit in. Embrace your quirks, your unique interests, and your unconventional passions. It's your weirdness that fascinates the world.

8. The Best Trips Are Spur of the Moment.

Life is a grand adventure waiting to be seized. Challenge the idea that meticulously planned trips are the only way to travel. Sometimes, the most remarkable experiences occur when you simply say "yes" to the unexpected.

9. Normalize Failure.

Failure is a steppingstone to growth. Challenge the fear of falling short and normalize the idea that setbacks are essential lessons on your journey to success. Remember, Failure is success in progress.

Weekly Growth Tip:

Be brave enough this week to suck at something new, by challenging your limits. Whether it's picking up a new hobby, trying a new cuisine, or exploring a new skill, you should embrace the unfamiliar. It's in these experiences that you discover untapped potential and unexpected joys that make you the bad ass human you are.
